PARFUMS RIGAUD is one of the world's oldest perfumers and dates back to the early 19th century when King Louis XVIII of France signed a decree giving the sole rights to the RIGAUD family for the manufacturing of a scented Macassar oil.
In 1852, JBF RIGAUD revolutionized the perfumery world by introducing new fragrances into the traditional French perfumery. His creative genius extended to the hitherto unknown field of marketing and in 1868 he conquered the American market where he won the leading place thanks to large scale promotional investment.
The RIGAUD candle was created in 1950 by Madame RIGAUD who had the original idea of scenting her shop on the Champs Èlysèes. The candles are still resplendent in their fabulous 1950's stylised packaging.
RIGAUD's great achievement was to combine successfully in a candle, fragrance and wax which, when burning, released the wonderful RIGAUD scents. They are also, the only candles in the world with such a long burning capacity. The Standard and Recharge burns for 50 hours and the Demi burn for 25 hours.
First Lady and style icon Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy brought them into the White House which she scented with Cypres. Could a candle be any more chic?
